"When women have hits, it’s a fluke", Bette Midler On First Wives Club

First Wives Club was a classic of 1996, sequel of which, was much awaited.

The film surrounded 3 women's revenge on their ex-husbands with a comedic twist.

On an interview with People, Bette Midler expressed her disappointment on the absence of a sequel.

The reasons range from Political influence to sexism in the industry.

“I really felt that it was a pretty serious diss, because when women have hits, it’s a fluke. But when men have hits, isn’t it great?", she commented.

Midler shared how heart-broken she is about it and that she took equal efforts for the sequel of First Wives Club and Hocus Pocus.

Bette is currently awaiting the release of Hocus Pocus 2, which she plays as one of the Sanderson sisters.
